Empire Resorts owns and operates Monticello Casino & Raceway, a casino and harness racing facility in Monticello, N.Y. The facility includes over 1,000 video gaming machines, as well as dining and live entertainment. Empire’s Monticello Casino facility opened its doors in July 2004 and has already hosted over 3 million visitors. The company’s Player’s Club now has over 140,000 members. Empire resorts is also leading the effort to bring a full scale casino resort to the Catskills.

Monticello Raceway

Monticello Raceway began operations on its lightning-fast half-mile track June 27, 1958. Since 1996, the Raceway has steadily grown the number of outlets that simulcast its races; in fact, Monticello Raceway’s aggressive efforts to grow the number of outlets has resulted in the track having more out of state outlets than all other New York harness tracks combined. Just this year, Monticello Raceway successfully added outlets in Canada and an incremental 31 outlets in Las Vegas. In addition, Empire Resorts recently invested $2 million to construct a new paddock area to attract the best horses and horsemen to Monticello Raceway. Today the Raceway is one of the largest, all-weather harness horse tracks in the country and host to the rich New York Sire Stakes.
